Hey anglers,We started our trip today at the north end of Guadalupe Island and we had a little action on good-size yellowtail and some 20 pound yellowfin tuna. We arrived at noon and started to hook fish right away. After we got everyone's drag adjusted to the right tension, we started to land a few fish. At about 3:30 pm the fish quit biting, so we moved on. We tried a few spots heading south with not much action after leaving the north end. We have high hopes for tomorrow, Capt Art |
| Shogun From The Bridge |
|
Thu Aug 21 2008, 08:14AM
Instead of following the pack to one or the other islands, Shogun splintered off and fished a couple of other spots that have been left "unattended" in hopes of some yellowtail action early in the trip. And yellowtail we did find. For the first day of fishing we put on 94 yellowtail that ranged in size from 12 pounds upwards to 25 pounds. Most of these fish ate the vertical "yo-yo" jig, but a few came up to eat fly-lined baits. It was a great way to start off the trip, though our weather isn't the greatest(not the worse either) no one seemed to notice. Funny how that works. For a complete Shogun Schedule CLICK HERE then call 619-226-8030 for more information and to book your trip.
